A jumping career awaits Jileks Spur after the Ciaron Maher-trained stayer scored an easy win in Australia's longest Flat race.
Jileks Spur made a clean sweep of the Marathon Series when he took out the Final over 4000m at Caulfield on Saturday.
The son of Flying Spur had scored in the previous series heats over 3000m at Sandown and 3400m at Mornington.
Maher said Jileks Spur will now head to Warrnambool for a maiden hurdle on the opening day of next month's three-day carnival.
Given a patient ride by Nick Hall, Jileks Spur ($2.90) took over before straightening to race away to a five-length win over Coogan ($17) with Vihanna Victory ($21) 1-3/4 lengths away third.
Jileks Spur has only been with Maher for four starts and jumping has been part of his training regime.
"He loves it," Maher said.
"It's helped him turn it around ... and together with the trip it's helped him find form."
The favourite Duplicity Jones ($2.70), which had finished second to Jileks Spur at Sandown and Mornington, weakened after leading to finish fourth.
