Trainer Kelly Schweida is yet to decide whether star Queensland filly Miss Cover Girl will take her place in the Gold Coast Guineas on Saturday.
Miss Cover Girl has drawn barrier 14 for the Group Three race and at best looks likely to start from gate 12.
If she runs she will almost certainly be among the favourites on the strength of her last-start win in the Group Three P J Bell Stakes at Randwick on April 6.
However, Schweida said he would speak to the filly's owners later this week about whether to start Miss Cover Girl from a wide draw.
"I gave her a freshen after the Sydney run and she is well," Schweida said.
"But at her previous start at the Gold Cost she jumped out well and then got caught deep before finishing midfield. I don't want the same thing to happen.
"It is very hard to get cover at the Gold Coast because they go along so hard and I don't want her having a gut buster."
Schweida is aiming Miss Cover Girl towards the Group One Tatt's Tiara on June 20.
"It is a long way off and I want to nurse her through the winter. I will have a good think about it before we make a decision (about Saturday)," Schweida said.
Miss Cover Girl has won seven of her 11 starts and is one of Queensland's best sprinting three-year-olds.
