With some of the better-credentialled Melbourne fillies in Adelaide on Saturday, Sam Pritchard-Gordon is confident of an improved showing from A Lotta Love at Caulfield.
The daughter of Al Mahar lines up in the No Fuss Events Handicap (1600m) following a last-start flop at Flemington on April 11.
The filly came in for support but after racing handy dropped out to finish last behind Kansas Sunflower.
Pritchard-Gordon said the filly received a bump near the home turn and lost interest.
"She pulled up pretty distressed after the race but came through it OK a couple of days later," Pritchard-Gordon said.
"I couldn't really put my finger on what the problem was, but it certainly wasn't a soundness issue."
Pritchard-Gordon said if A Lotta Love returns to the form of her previous outing at Moonee Valley on March 27, she will be hard to beat.
A Lotta Love had finished fourth to Fontein Ruby, one of the favoured runners in Saturday's Australasian Oaks at Morphettville, in the Alexandra Stakes.
"She has picked up well since her last run and with the better fillies heading over to South Australia I thought it was a good opportunity for her to pluck a city win," Pritchard-Gordon said.
