Trainer Jason Warren has been asked to answer two charges by Racing Victoria stewards in the latest development in the Baron Archer investigation.
Stewards have alleged that Warren deliberately failed to tell them Baron Archer had undergone throat surgery prior to resuming in a race at Echuca on March 8.
Under the Australian Rules of Racing, trainers must inform stewards of "any occurrence, condition or treatment" that could affect the performance of a horse.
Warren has also been charged with giving false or misleading evidence to stewards.
His charges will be heard by the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary (RAD) Board at a date to be fixed.
The development is the latest twist in the stewards' inquiry surrounding Baron Archer.
They are also investigation the betting account of the partner of suspended jockey Danny Nikolic after a large volume of money was laid against Baron Archer to lose the March 8 race for which the horse was a $2.80 favourite.
Nikolic's partner Tania Hyett has been interviewed about the matter with chief steward Terry Bailey saying his team is looking into how Hyett's account was being funded and operated.
"The inquiry is ongoing as there is quite a bit in it that we need to work through," Bailey said.
Stewards on the day had no issues with jockey Ben Melham's ride on Baron Archer who finished third.
Meanwhile, trainer Peter Gelagotis will also front the RAD Board after he was charged over the race day treatment of Axis Point.
The horse was due to race at Warrnambool on Tuesday but was scratched by order of the stewards.
No date for the Gelagotis hearing has been set.
