An improved track gallop and a drop in weight have trainer convinced Sydney trainer Gerald Ryan that Estonian Princess can break a winning drought at Doomben.
Ryan flew to Brisbane on Tuesday to watch Estonian Princess go through her final hit-out before Saturday's Group Three BRC Sprint (1350m).
"She worked very well for her. She isn't a flash track worker but she impressed me and I think she is ready to run a big race," Ryan said.
The mare will be having her second start for Ryan after being transferred from Scott Aspery when bought by Rosemont Stud.
Estonian Princess, out of the winners' list since claiming the JHB Carr Stakes during last year's Sydney autumn carnival, lumped 58kg when second to I've Got The Looks in the Silk Stocking at the Gold Coast two weeks ago.
She drops to the minimum 54kg on Saturday.
"I could have run her in the Juanmo Stakes against the females on Saturday but the 1200 metres would have been too short and the weight too much," Ryan said.
Kerrin McEvoy takes over from Brenton Avdulla on Estonian Princess who has drawn barrier five.
"Brenton wants to stay in Sydney during the carnival and make the most of his opportunities there," Ryan said.
Ryan also expects three-year-old Brewery to run a better race in the Group Three Rough Habit Plate (2000m).
