Multiple Group One winner Trust In A Gust will be kept in training.
It was feared the rising five-year-old may have run his last race after being injured being prepared for a trip to Brisbane.
Trust In A Gust sustained cuts and abrasions after playing up as he was loaded on a plane.
The son of Husson was heading to Brisbane to contest the BTC Cup, the first of a three-run Queensland campaign north before retirement to stud.
"Trust In A Gust will have a six-week spell and will remain in training aimed towards major weight-for-age Group Ones through the spring," trainer Darren Weir tweeted.
Weir earlier said Trust In A Gust had remained in work after returning to his Ballarat stable following his ordeal while a decision was made on his future.
Trust In A Gust completed the Caulfield Group One double of the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes and Toorak Handicap last spring.
