He may have two of the outsiders in the Group One Goodwood but trainer Peter Moody is far from conceding defeat.
Moody will travel from Melbourne to Morphettville on Saturday to saddle $21 chance Thermal Current and $31 hope Flamberge in Adelaide's feature Group One sprint.
Hucklebuck retains favouritism at $4.40 despite strong support for Perth visitor Black Heart Bart who has firmed from $10 to $4.60 during the week.
Thermal Current heads into the 1200m sprint off a strong win in one of the traditional lead-ups, the D C McKay Stakes over 1100m on May 2.
Moody said the son of Exceed And Excel returned to his Caulfield stables following the success, his first since Moonee Valley in October 2013.
Thermal Current has drawn barrier four and has Ben Melham in the saddle.
"He's had a couple of bites at the cherry at this sort of level before but has been a little below them," Moody said.
"But he's fit and well, in form, drawn a good marble and has a good jock."
While Thermal Current has drawn well in four, Moody is not concerned about barrier 16 for Flamberge who will be ridden by Vlad Duric.
Flamberge hasn't raced since finishing 12th behind Sweet Idea in The Galaxy at Rosehill in March but Moody says the gelding races best when fresh.
"He's got a super fresh record," Moody said.
"He's drawn off the track but that might be like having barrier one getting to that stage of the day in Adelaide.
"Both horses go into the race good shape.
"Both have had their chances in Group Ones before and they're not going to get a better chance than in this type of race."
Moody also has a select team racing at the Sunshine Coast feature meeting with Luke Nolen to partner Ulmann in the Sunshine Coast Guineas and Office Bearer in the Bribie Handicap while Jim Byrne rides Sir John Hawkwood in the Caloundra Cup.
