Falino has appreciated a fast pace to score a stakes win in the Listed Bribie Handicap at the Sunshine Coast.
Saturday's win was the fourth at metropolitan level for Falino who was set to be retired two years ago because of a throat problem.
"The owners invested in a throat operation and he has rewarded them with four good wins since then," trainer Darren Bell said.
"He is a horse who needs things to go his way. He needs a fast pace and a dry track."
"Falino got that today and he can finish very hard when he gets those conditions."
Bell said Falino would now chase more black type during the winter carnival.
He also paid tribute to Falino's jockey Brad Stewart.
"They don't come much better than Brad when he is on song. That was a perfect ride," he said.
Trainer Kelso Wood said runner-up Seeking more would run in the Lightning Hcp (1000m) at Doomben in a fortnight.
