One of Australia`s leading syndicators, Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock achieved a significant milestone last night on a cold and wet night at Cranbourne, La Passé bought up their 50th winner for the 2014/15 racing season.
The Darren Weir trained La Passé came with a barnstorming finish from well back to win running away on the line. “We have been close to 50 winners in a season for the past two seasons but this year we have achieved it with 10 weeks in the racing season to go. These results are only possible due to the loyal and longtime support of our owners and those on the team of ATB, which include everyone from the farm staff to the breakers, pre trainers, vets, trainers and jockeys. I think we will have to celebrate this milestone,” Darren Dance.
Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock P/L was established in 1997 and operates out of a stud and agistment property “Manningtree Park” at Beremboke in Central Victoria. Darren & Liz have been racing horses since 1990 and tasted success at the highest level early when their horse Mookta won the Group One Oakleigh Plate in 1993 and the Newmarket Handicap in 1994. A decision was made in 1994 to purchase and establish Manningtree Park to house their racehorses and broodmares where they could care for them and ensure they received first class feed and horse husbandry. Since then Darren and Liz have continued to operate and expand Manningtree Park to where it is today. With first class fencing, shelter and pasture. Horses receive first class care on a property that houses almost 150 horses with a dedicated team looking after them. Stakes horses born at Manningtree Park include Skewiff, True Courser, Rue Maple and Uxorious.
More recently ATB have had great Black Type success around Australia with dual Group One winning mare Platelet, Taiyoo and Lonhspresso to name a few. In 2011, Darren and Liz looked abroad to take ATB owners on an international journey to Dubai, Royal Ascot, The Curragh, Japan and Hong Kong. ATB purchased with success international bred stayers Jakkalberry, Dandino, Seismos and Tac de Boistron, with all being trained by UK training star and Italian born Marco Botti. Jakkalberry won the 2012 American St Leger and then later placed third in the 2012 Emirates Melbourne Cup. Dandino, an entire by Dansili, was also well travelled, racing successfully in Europe as well as winning the 2013 American St Leger, he then came across to Australia to finish second in the 2013 BMW Caulfield Cup and fifth in the 2013 Emirates Melbourne Cup. Tac de Boistron, while unsuccessful in Australia due to the firm tracks went back to the United Kingdom and has become one of the best wet trackers and staying horses in the world. He has won back to back Group One Prix Royal Oak at Longchamp with earnings of $1million plus and looks well on track to make it three in a row.
ATB have had great success with horses at all levels and cater for all budgets. Our shares start at $1650 for 5%. ATB make racing affordable for everyone so fellow owners can experience the joys of racing and getting that winning feeling! There is nothing better than seeing the happy faces of owners experiencing a win and knowing that we are giving them so much enjoyment. We continually to strive to improve and achieve more winners for the many ATB owners and their family!
