Victorian apprentice Jack Martin has a suspected broken jaw after he came off a horse on the way to the starting gates at Moe.
The Victorian Jockeys' Association said Martin was taken to LaTrobe Valley Hospital with a possible jaw injury and general observation after the incident on Monday.
Meanwhile, senior jockey Mark Pegus' recent good form has been halted after he suffered a broken collarbone in a trackwork fall at Kilmore on Monday.
The 36-year-old returned to riding earlier this year after suffering a badly broken arm at the Cairns Cup meeting in August.
He was out of the saddle for five months after having a plate and nine screws inserted in his forearm.
NSW rider Mitchell Bell will undergo surgery after breaking a hand in a fall at Scone on Saturday.
The fall in the second race cost Bell the win on Artlee in the Listed Luskin Star Stakes.
