Flemington to suit Kryptonian: Dabernig

Thursday 21 May 2015, 5:05pm

The Lindsay Park team already has its eyes on next season with Kryptonian.

Kryptonian broke his maiden at his second start at Ballarat and the two-year-old will be out to press his claims as a potential spring prospect at Flemington on Saturday.

Co-trainer Tom Dabernig says Kryptonian has promise but is convinced he will be better again next season.

But Dabernig still expects Kryptonian can make his presence felt in the Victorian Carbine Club Plate for which he is favourite.

"We've more got his three-year-old season in mind for him but I think over seven furlongs at Flemington he'll run well," Dabernig said.

"If he won on Saturday I think we'd definitely consider backing off him for the spring."

Dabernig expects Kryptonian will get over more ground, but how far remains to be seen.

"It's a bit hard to forecast but he's got a big action and nice length about him," he said.
