Trip To Paris to run at Sandown

Wednesday 27 May 2015, 8:52am

Melbourne Cup prospect Trip To Paris will line up in the Group Three Henry II Stakes at Sandown which trainer Ed Dunlop will use as a guide to his future.

Trip To Paris enhanced his reputation as an emerging stayer with victory in the Chester Cup earlier this month.

Dunlop is the trainer of three-time Melbourne Cup runner-up Red Cadeaux.

"Trip To Paris will take his chance in the Henry II Stakes and this will give us an idea of where we stand for the rest of the summer," Dunlop said on his website.

Also in the mix for Thursday's race is 2013 Melbourne Cup fourth placed Simenon.

The Willie Mullins-trained eight-year-old will be having his first start since winning the Grimes Hurdle at Tipperary last July.

The Nicky Henderson-trained Forgotten Voice, who failed to make the 2013 Melbourne Cup field, is also in at Sandown.
