Najoom a confirmed Stradbroke starter

The Gai Waterhouse-trained Najoom is a confirmed runner in the $2 million Stradbroke Handicap with her owners paying a $30,000 late entry fee.

The filly gained an automatic berth in Brisbane's premier sprint on Saturday week with her victory in the Fred Best Classic at Doomben which elevated her to the top of Stradbroke markets.

Trevor Lobb, racing manager for Najoom's owner Nasser Lootah, confirmed the late nomination fee had been paid on Wednesday.

Tommy Berry will ride Najoom who has just 50.5 kilograms in the Stradbroke.
