Trainer John Salanitri is keeping his options open with Wangoom Handicap winner Royal Island who is nominated for races in two states this week.
Salanitri says his preference is Friday's $100,000 Golden Topaz (1200m) at Swan Hill, but that is weather dependant as Royal Island is a wet track specialist.
Royal Island is also nominated for a 1400m Benchmark-94 at Randwick on Saturday and a 1200m race at Moonee Valley.
"I haven't really decided. It all depends on the weather," Salanitri said on Monday.
"My preference is Swan Hill but I don't think it's going to be wet enough. And if he doesn't go there my second option is Sydney, and I just wonder if it's going to be wet enough there either."
Salanitri said Royal Island would be an acceptor for the Golden Topaz and the Randwick race and admitted it was a juggling act to prepare the horse without knowing exactly which race he would be going to and which distance.
Royal Island resumed from nine months off the scene to score a 2-1/2 length win in the Listed Wangoom (1200m) on May 6 on a soft track.
His stablemate To Be Honest has been entered for three races at Moonee Valley and one at Randwick.
