There was a delay to the third race at Warwick Farm on Wednesday when a false start was declared after what appeared to be a barrier malfunction.
Stewards said the gates opened intermittently, setting off the false start warning and alerting the jockeys to pull their mounts up after they had gone a short distance.
The full field was reloaded after a short delay with the race won by the Gai Waterhouse-trained Kimberley Star.
Stewards have opened an inquiry into the incident.
