Talented apprentice Michael Dee has had a career-best day in the saddle with four winners at Ballarat.
The New Zealand rider has been based in Melbourne since January and said riding half the card at Wednesday's metropolitan meeting was a highlight of his career to date.
"I've never ridden four winners before," Dee told Racing Live.
"I'm thrilled to ride four winners and almost get five.
"I'm very lucky with the day that I've had."
Dee brought up his fourth win on the imported Shikarpour in the Racing.com NJT Series Heat 9 (2000m).
The two-kilo claimer had earlier steered To Be Honest, Coronation Shallan and Parwan Prince to victory and finished second in another race on Not A Llama.
Coronation Shallan got home in a driving three-way finish to the Winter Championship Series Heat while Parwan Prince surged clear in the final 200m to win a benchmark race for three-year-olds by 2-1/2 lengths first-up.
Craig Williams, who missed the meeting through suspension, maintains a one-win lead over Dwayne Dunn in the Melbourne premiership after Dunn went winless at Ballarat.
Damien Oliver relinquished his rides at the meeting because he was ill and he remains another win further back.
Luke Nolen has been suspended for 12 meetings for careless riding aboard Reticent in the final race with his ban due to start after Saturday's Caulfield meeting.
