It took until the last of eight races at Rosehill for Blake Shinn to get a score on the board in the intense battle for the Sydney jockeys' premiership.
Shinn went to Saturday's meeting four behind James McDonald and a dead-heat in front of Hugh Bowman.
With a good book of rides, Shinn seemed destined to close the gap on McDonald who is riding in England until the middle of the month.
Hollywood Bound took Shinn's tally to 85.5 when he defied the pattern of the day to come down the outside in the Cellarbrations Handicap (1500m).
"It's been a long day but one is better than none," Shinn said.
"I felt I had a good book of rides but that's racing.
"You have to take each race as it comes.
"The battle is getting closer. It's good for the sport and good for racing."
Bowman was winless on the day with Christian Reith the only rider to notch a double.
Reith's two winners came aboard the Bjorn Baker-trained Hard To Hold in a benchmark race and Godolphin's Haussmann in the Listed Civic Stakes in which he replaced Tim Clark who could no make the gelding's 54kg.
