Raposo earned a new fan in jockey Brad Rawiller after the three-year-old produced a strong finish to win the Silver Bowl Series Final at Flemington.
Rawiller was having his first ride on the Patrick Payne-trained gelding who was backing up from a luckless run at Caulfield seven days earlier.
Raposo, who has established a pattern of getting back in his races, started to work into the 1600m event coming around the home turn but had his momentum stopped when a run closed.
He was able to pick himself back up and sprinted quickly to chase down Plan and win by three-quarters of a length, with another length to Liberty Island third.
"That was super impressive," Rawiller said.
"Before the corner he was just going that well that it was just a matter of finding some clear air."
Rawiller liked how quickly the horse sprinted again after he lost his momentum.
"His last 200 metres would have been incredible and I was never not going to win," he said.
Rawiller said Raposo had good potential but he didn't want to put a mark on what level the horse could reach, noting he was still one-dimensional in his racing style.
"Patrick will keep placing him through his grades," he said.
"I'm sure there will be a nice race for him down the track."
Payne said he might consider an early-spring target for Raposo.
"I think winter time suits him but maybe (we'll look at something) early spring," he said.
"But there's a lot of good horses coming back in now."
