They say babies bring luck and new grandfather, trainer Anthony Cummings, agrees with Skyline Blush adding to the family celebrations with victory at Randwick.
Cummings' son James and his wife Monica welcomed their first child Adeline on June 30.
"It's been a great couple of weeks for the family," Anthony Cummings said.
"Adeline is doing well and it's the start of another generation."
Monica Cummings is the racing manager for her grandfather Eduardo Cojuangco's Gooree Stud which races Skyline Blush, the winner of three of her past five starts on wet winter tracks.
The filly was a $9.50 chance in Saturday's 3YO Benchmark 70 when she stepped up to 2000 metres for the first time.
Brenton Avdulla didn't rush her mid-race and that left her with plenty to give when she took the lead in the straight and held off equal favourite Got You Double ($4.80) who challenged strongly inside the final 200m.
Skyline Blush prevailed by a head with Montrer Dame ($7.50) leading the rest of the pack another 2-1/4 lengths away.
"She is a really nice filly and is only now starting to mature," Cummings said.
"I think she is better on top of the ground which makes what she is doing even better.
"I think we can get her ready for some of those early mares races in the spring."
