Australian jockey Michael Rodd has racked up a half-century of winners in Singapore just over midway through the season.

The multiple Group One jockey left Australia to take up a short-term contract in Singapore at the beginning of the year.

His contract has since been extended until the end of the season in December.

Rodd's 50th win came at Kranji on Sunday and he soon made it 51 to to end the day two in front of fellow Australian Corey Brown with the pair fighting out second place.

Brazilian Manoel Nunes remains in the lead on 78.

Rodd said he was grateful for the support he had received in Singapore.

"It was hard work getting here but 50 wins was a target I set when I first arrived so I am of course happy to hit it earlier than expected," Rodd said.

"I was fortunate to have taken over many of Danny Beasley's rides when he left so I'm grateful for the support everyone has given to me."

Beasley returned to Sydney earlier this year when his licence was not renewed.
