Victorian trainer Ricky Maund has been disqualified for six months after being found guilty on two counts of race day treatment.
Maund unsuccessfully pleaded not guilty on Monday to administering, or causing to be administered, an alkalinising agent by oral syringe to Uncle Keithy before he was due to race at Caulfield on April 18.
After taking evidence on the day, stewards withdrew Uncle Keithy from his scheduled race.
The administration of alkalinising agents is only allowed one clear day before 12.01am on the day of a race, official trial or jump-out.
Maund's ban begins on July 27 but he cannot start any horses in the week leading up to that date.
