Star apprentice James Orman has finished a stellar year by winning the Queensland Racing Media Association Young Rider of the Year.
Orman, who is currently leading both the Brisbane and Queensland senior premierships, will spend three weeks riding in Singapore as his prize.
The award was sponsored by UBET and organised by senior riders Michael Cahill and Jim Byrne.
Orman has ridden more than 100 winners in 2015 including 64 in the new racing season and claimed his first stakes win on Sold For Song at Doomben on Saturday.
Trainer Robert Heathcote and jockey Damian Browne shared the QRMA Racing Personality of the Year for their work in promoting the state's racing through the champion galloper Buffering.
