Godolphin colt Exosphere maintains favouritism over Press Statement for Sydney's first Group One race of the season.
A field of nine is set to line up in Saturday's $1 million Golden Rose for three-year-olds at Rosehill with Exosphere attempting to claim the Run To The Rose-Golden Rose double.
In winning the Run To The Rose, Exosphere inflicted the first defeat on the Chris Waller-trained Press Statement.
Press Statement won three starts as a juvenile including the Group One J J Atkins Stakes.
To be ridden by James McDonald, Exosphere is at $2.90 for the Golden Rose ahead of Press Statement at $3.60.
Speak Fondly, the only filly in the field, is third pick at $4.80.
The Peter Moody-trained Gold Symphony earned his shot at the Golden Rose with wins in the Vain Stakes and McNeil Stakes at Caulfield.
Star jockey Tommy Berry will ride Gold Symphony after his original mount Vancouver was sent to the spelling paddock.
Berry's first Group One win came in the Golden Rose on Epaulette three years ago.
He has since won another 17 Group One wins including four in Hong Kong and three in Singapore.
