Dual Arc winner Treve remains on course to make her return in the Prix Vermeille after coming through a morning gallop with flying colours.

The mare won the Vermeille and the Arc during a brilliant campaign two years ago and although large parts of last season were not so smooth, she came back to her best in Paris in October to successfully defend her Longchamp crown.

After initially calling time on her career, owner Sheikh Joaan swiftly reversed the retirement decision in a bid to make Treve the first ever three-time winner of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe and she has so far enjoyed a trouble-free year.

She has not been seen in competitive action since landing the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud in late June, but trainer Criquette Head-Maarek expressed her delight after seeing her pride and joy work in front of the media in Chantilly on Tuesday.

"She is fine. There is nothing to complain (about)," Head-Maarek said.

"This morning she just did a small mile with her lead horse. It was just a pipe-opener for her, nothing more.

"She was very free in her work when she came back from her break, but this morning she was more relaxed and seems very well."

The trainer is looking forward to seeing Treve lock horns with shock Juddmonte International winner Arabian Queen on Sunday.

She also said she would be keeping a close eye on the previous evening's Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown, with the likes of Golden Horn and Free Eagle potential Arc challengers.
