Jockey numbers for the Sandown Guineas meeting have taken a battering with suspensions to high profile riders on the final day of the Melbourne Cup carnival.
Damien Oliver, Craig Williams, Ben Melham, Blake Shinn and Dom Tourneur will be missing because of careless riding suspensions.
Craig Newitt will also miss part of the meeting as he jets off late in the day to ride in Sunday's Singapore Gold Cup.
Newitt has a booking for Sertorius in the 3200m Sandown Cup after finishing 12th on the stayer behind Prince Of Penzance in the Melbourne Cup.
He said the tempo of the Cup was against Sertorius as he was constantly shuffled back to the point where he was near last on the home turn.
"I was outside the winner early and by the time we got to the mile (1600m) I was seven lengths off it," Newitt said.
"I was near last on the corner and he's ended up running 12th.
"He ran out of his skin and if he didn't get shuffled out of it and was able to hold his spot I think he would have run top six.
Newitt will catch a 7pm flight on Saturday to Singapore his Gold Cup mount is the Michael Freedman-trained A La Victory, a horse he rode during his stint in Singapore earlier in the year.
Newitt has ridden at the Gold Cup meeting for the past three years, with a best finish of third in 2013.
Danny Beasley, who returned to race riding at Canterbury on Saturday after an injury enforced lay-off, is also Singapore bound.
He will be riding on Friday night and again at the Gold Cup meeting.
Beasley had eight seasons in Singapore, finishing second on the premiership table last year with 83 winners.
He teamed successfully with War Affair for Alvin Tan who was instrumental in getting him to Singapore next weekend.
Beasley will ride Dragon Fury for Tan in Friday night's EW Barker Trophy and Martin for Laurie Laxon in Sunday's Gold Cup.
