The run of outs endured by Howmuchdoyouloveme is getting as long as the racing name given to the one-time boom sprinter.
But Howmuchdoyouloveme's slide from potential Group One winner to a horse struggling for touch hasn't been as sudden as his trainer would have liked.
Not that Con Karakatsanis is wishing ill on the best horse in a stable he is trying to rebuild after returning from a disqualification.
Karakatsanis simply wants to find a winnable race for Howmuchdoyouloveme and to do that he has to wait for the handicapping system to recognise the seven-year-old's mixed run of form.
"He did get punished a lot with his rating and it took a long time for it to come down so he could actually get into a race where he's competitive," Karakatsanis said.
Karakatsanis is convinced Howmuchdoyouloveme isn't a lost cause despite going 15 starts without winning.
It's a long way removed from his first 13 outings when he marched through the classes with seven wins, including four at stakes level.
"He's had a lot of problems and he's now reached the mark where he should be," Karakatsanis said.
"Put it this way, he's got wins left in him."
Howmuchdoyouloveme ran two placings during a winter campaign and he resumes from a wide alley as an outsider with 3kg apprentice Samantha Clenton riding in the main sprint race of the day at Rosehill on Saturday.
