* Born December 1924, Died November 2015.
* Began training in 1946.
* First major winner Llandrillo 1950 Australian Steeplechase.
* Inducted into the Australian Racing Hall of Fame in 2015.
VAIN
* Trained by Moloney to win 12 of his 14 starts including the 1969 Golden Slipper and Caulfield Guineas.
* Until Black Caviar this century, Vain and Manikato were regarded as the best sprinters produced in Australia.
* He went on to become a successful stallion and sired two Golden Slipper winners - Sir Dapper and Inspired.
