Premier trainer Tony Gollan is on a mission to dominate the Queensland summer carnival.
Gollan has already trained 33 metropolitan winners this season and had a treble at Doomben last Saturday and a double at Ipswich on Wednesday.
However, Gollan is also looking at collecting a large number of the stakes races during the summer, starting with Traveston Girl and Best Of The Rest in the Listed Recognition Stakes (1600m) at Doomben on Saturday.
"I know we had a record number of winners last season but I was disappointed with my performance in the winter carnival," Gollan said.
"Perhaps, I didn't handle the changes in training routines with Eagle Farm closed but I hope we have learned from that and are ready for a very big summer.
"I really want to dominate the summer. I am sick of the southern stables coming here and taking all of our good money."
Gollan said Traveston Girl was being aimed at the Magic Millions carnival but he had not decided which race she would contest.
He said he believed Traveston Girl could run a strong 2000m which meant the Magic Millions Trophy (1800m) was an option along with the Magic Millions Cup (1400m).
"I didn't see much point in running her in the fillies' and mares' listed race on Saturday over 1200 metres," he said.
"She ran a terrific fifth in a Listed race over 1400 metres at Flemington on Melbourne Cup day and there was no use coming back in distance.
"Traveston Girl is Group One placed at 1600m in the Thousand Guineas and she should be able to sette where she likes in the Recognition."
Gollan said Best Of The Rest had been disappointing since running his first-up second over 1200m.
"Things haven't gone his way in the runs since. Don't forget he ran third last campaign to Hopfgarten and Sir Moments over 1600 metres and that would be good enough to win this," Gollan said.
