Fleur D'Orage has evoked memories of the glory days for trainer Barry Baldwin with her maiden win at Ipswich.
The filly came from last to break her maiden on Wednesday.
She races in the same colours as the Baldwin-trained Group One Stradbroke winner La Montagna and is raced by a similar syndicate.
"She is a half sister to another handy filly of mine in Pandora's Charm," Baldwin said.
"Fleur D'Orage weighs only 420 kilograms but she tries very hard."
Trainer Rob Heathcote proved he was a better trainer than weather forecaster when Fortini ($2.10) won the Sirromet Winery Hcp at the Ipswich meeting.
"I was a bit apprehensive about him on the heavy eight track this morning but I told the connections it would improve," he said.
"Naturally, it rained all day and the track was downgraded to heavy nine."
The wet track proved no problem for Landale who is with his third trainer after beginning life with Robert Hickmott at the Lloyd Williams-owned operation.
The gelding was sold in May to Beaudesert trainer Kelvin Hickmott and has won three races since coming to Queensland including Wednesday's Class four over 1350 metres.
