Kevin Moses has until next week to find new homes for his horses after the NSW Racing Appeals Tribunal reinstated a 12-month ban against him for a cobalt-related offence.
The Randwick trainer was originally disqualified for 12 months by Racing NSW stewards after his horse Felix Bay tested positive to cobalt in a pre-race sample at Hawkesbury in April.
Moses was adamant he did not use cobalt on his horses and the high reading was believed to have been produced by a seemingly innocuous vitamin injection Felix Bay was given the night before the race.
The trainer took the matter to the Racing NSW Appeals Panel which replaced his disqualification with a $20,000 fine and suspended two-year sentence.
However, his victory was short-lived.
On Wednesday, a counter-appeal by Racing NSW stewards was successful in getting the ban reinstated.
Moses will start his disqualification next Wednesday.
