Broken bones for fallen Mudgee Cup jockeys

Sunday 6 December 2015, 1:25pm

Kody Nestor will travel to Sydney to undergo an assessment of his injuries suffered in a five-horse fall in the Mudgee Cup.

Nestor has a badly dislocated and fractured shoulder and will see Racing NSW's doctor David Duckworth this week.

The jockey was airlifted to Orange Hospital after Friday's fall and was due to be discharged on Sunday.

Jay Ford will also see Dr Duckworth to find out if he needs an operation on his broken left hand while Aaron Bullock has an appointment to determine the damage after fracturing his collar bone in three places.

Glenn Lynch was discharged from Mudgee Hospital on Saturday having fractured his left foot while Greg Ryan was released on Friday night suffering from general soreness and concussion.

Ford's injury means Canberra trainer Matt Dale will have to find a new jockey for unbeaten three-year-old Bitburg who will line up in Saturday's $250,000 Inglis Sprint (1100m).

Ford has ridden Bitburg to his four wins including his most recent over 1100 metres at Rosehill where he stamped his class at his first metropolitan start.
