Extreme Choice has a few obstacles ahead if he is to make his debut in a rich sales-restricted race at Randwick.
The Melbourne trained two-year-old is already in Sydney preparing for Saturday's $500,000 Inglis Nursery (1000m) on Saturday.
Trainer Mick Price sent the colt north during the week to have an official trial before he makes his debut in the race for graduates of Inglis sales.
A $100,000 yearling at the Classic sale in Sydney in February, Extreme Choice has had two jump-outs, easily winning the latest last Tuesday at Caulfield.
"New South Wales rules, for some stupid reason, that first starters cannot race in Sydney without trialling," Price said.
"He's had two trials here in Melbourne so it does put me under a bit more pressure.
"I'll have to give him a soft trial and hope for the best.
"It's a bit of an ask to trial Tuesday, float to Sydney, trial again and then race."
Victorian trainer Brent Stanley was caught out by the rule last month with Magic Millions hopefuls Coming In Hot and Balancing Act.
The youngsters have since gone to Queensland where Balancing Act ran second at Doomben on Friday and Coming In Hot third at the same track a day later.
By Not A Single Doubt out of the unraced Extremely, Extreme Choice is in a 900m heat at Rosehill on Tuesday morning with Glyn Schofield to ride.
Price said the two-year-old had settled in well to his new surrounds in Sydney but his next concern is that he makes the field for Saturday's race.
The trainer is worried that as a first starter, Extreme Choice could be balloted out but, with $500,000 on offer, Price will take the risk.
"We'll give him the chance up there because it's very good prize money," he said.
