Buffering tunes up at Doomben

Wednesday 23 December 2015, 4:13pm

Star Queensland galloper Buffering has been given go-ahead from jockey Damien Browne for his Magic Millions day assignment after working stylishly between races at Doomben.

Trainer Rob Heathcote sent Buffering and his stakes winning stable mate Riva De Lago out for a 1000m working pace gallop on Wednesday with the pair picking up the tempo over the final 600m.

Buffering held Riva De Lago in the run to line with Browne sitting quietly in the saddle.

Browne immediately gave Buffering the thumbs up for the $1 million QTIS race at the Gold Coast on January 9.

"I was happy with that. I didn't do a lot on him but there is still two weeks to the Millions," Browne said.

Heathcote said he was also happy with Buffering's effort.

"That should top him off nicely for the Millions. At this stage I am looking at the QTIS race although we entered him for the Magic Millions Sprint as a back-up," Heathcote said.

Group One placed three-year-old I'm Belucci also worked between races and impressed trainer Desleigh Forster.

I'm Belucci is being set for a first-up tilt at the Magic Millions Guineas on January 9.
