Admiral wins another stakes race

Thursday 24 December 2015, 6:46am

Admiral has continued his march through the Tasmanian summer features with his second Listed win this month.

The Barry Campbell-trained four-year-old added Tasmanian Stakes (1600m) at Launceston on Wednesday night to his 1400m win at the track on December 9.

Admiral beat Victorian visitor Eximius by 1-1/2 lengths to take his earnings to almost $500,000.

Campbell will resist the temptation to take Admiral to the mainland for the time being with the gelding to tackle three more upcoming stakes races at home from 1200 to 1400 metres.

His latest victory takes his record to 11 wins from 16 starts.
