Reldas favourite for Christmas Stakes

Christmas Stakes favourite Reldas has been well supported in early markets for the Listed feature at Caulfield.

The Robert Smerdon-trained Reldas opened at $4.60 in first markets for Saturday's 1200m Christmas Stakes but has already been trimmed to $3.80.

Reldas will be ridden by Nick Hall who is making his comeback from a wrist injury at the Boxing Day meeting afer seven months on the sidelines.

The Christmas Stakes has attracted a field of 15 with Office Bearer second favourite at $6 ahead of Tuscan Sling at $7 and Written Up at $8.

The Lord Stakes (1700m) is the other Listed race on the Caulfield program and last-start winners Tashbeeh and Precious Gem share early favouritism at $5.

Metaphorical is next at $7.50 ahead of Adelaide visitor Held Hostage and last year's Lord Stakes winner Jacquinot Bay who are both at $9.
