Hyeronimus out for three to six weeks

Tuesday 5 January 2016, 9:20am

Jockey Adam Hyeronimus will be out of action for at least three weeks with a collarbone injury suffered in a fall at Rosehill.

Hyeronimus came off two-year-old Northern Fire in the first race on Saturday but continued to ride in three more races, bringing up a winner on the Bjorn Baker-trained Selita.

After riding Caped Crusader he was forced to stand down from his remaining two mounts, one of which, Richard The First, won with Taylor Marshall aboard.

After further examinations on Monday, Hyeronimus tweeted he would be out of action for some time.

"A second CT scan confirmed a problem with my collarbone as the initial X-Rays showed. I'll be out for 3-6wks," Hyeronimus said.

Hyeronimus said it was his first race fall in his seven years of riding.

Kerrin McEvoy was suspended for four weeks for shifting out on his mount in the straight and causing interference to Northern Fire.
