The Australian Turf Club is counting on a break in NSW's wet weather to save midweek racing at Warwick Farm.

Heavy rain on Tuesday forced the NSW provincial meeting at Wyong to be abandoned as Warwick Farm received almost 50mm rain in the 48 hours up to 9am on Tuesday.

The Wyong abandonment came after Monday's Moruya meeting was lost because of rain.

Warwick Farm track manager Mark Jones said he was forced to downgrade the course condition to the heavy range for Wednesday's meeting after a early-morning track inspection.

"The key is tomorrow and the forecast is not too bad at all," Jones said.

"If we had heavy rain tomorrow we would be in trouble.

"But the fact the forecast is OK at this stage, we'll just press on and see what tomorrow brings."

Mud runners will be the order of the day and breeding may well be the best guide to finding the winner of the TAB More Than Just Winning Handicap - a race for two-year-old fillies.

Thirteen of the 14 acceptors are first starters, including Hussterical, the early favourite with some pre-post operators.

Hussterical shaped up well in a Randwick barrier trial last month, finishing second to stablemate Scarlet Rain.

Scarlet Rain confirmed the merit of the trial form with her win on debut at Rosehill on Saturday.

Hussterical has been passed fit to run despite sustaining shoulder and knee abrasions during a stable mishap on Monday.

The Chris Waller-trained Avalanche Warning is the only filly with race experience after finishing down the course at Warwick Farm last month and she will ridden by in-demand apprentice Andrew Adkins.

Adkins enjoyed his best day in the saddle since moving to Sydney with his double at Randwick on New Year's Day, highlighted by a win on the Waller-trained All Cerise.

The 3kg-claiming apprentice will also ride Sebring Sally for Waller with the three-year-old making her Sydney debut after being switched from the trainer's Flemington stable.
