Capitalist firms even further for Slipper

Monday 11 January 2016, 7:11am

On the back of his Magic Millions win, Capitalist is now the $3.50 favourite for the Golden Slipper.

Unbeaten in three starts, the colt will be given a few easy days to get over his victory at the Gold Coast on Saturday before getting back to work.

Co-trainer Peter Snowden expects Capitalist to have one run leading into the $3.5 million Slipper at Rosehill on March 19.

After his Magic Millions win, Capitalist firmed from $6 to $3.50 with the TAB ahead of Godolphin's Astern at $11.

Starting at $1.40 in the Magic Millions, Capitalist became the shortest-priced favourite to win the $2 million race since it began 29 years ago.

Snowden said he believed Capitalist still had more improvement to come.

"You never know what you have got with him. Capitalist just keeps on improving," Snowden said.

"I don't know how good he can be."
