Early start for Sandown midweek meeting

Tuesday 12 January 2016, 11:29am

The start time for the Sandown midweek meeting has been brought forward another hour because of forecast hot weather.

The first race on Wednesday will start at 10.40am after the original scheduled start time had been 12.40pm.

That was initially brought forward to 11.40am before it was revised on Tuesday morning.

With the 10.40am start, the eight-race meeting will finish at 2.20pm with 30-minute gaps until race six and 35-minutes gaps for the remainder of the card.

"We decided to bring the meeting (forward) another hour to avoid the hottest part of the day, which is forecast to be from 3pm onwards," Racing Victoria's Paul Bloodworth said.
