209 still in contention for Blue Diamond

Capitalist is the notable omission from second declarations for the Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield.

The winner of the Magic Millions 2YO Classic at the Gold Coast on Saturday, Capitalist is being aimed at Australia's richest two-year-old race, the $3.5 million Golden Slipper at Rosehill in March.

Trained by Peter and Paul Snowden, Capitalist is a stablemate to last year's Blue Diamond winner Pride Of Dubai.

The Snowdens still have Gravitate, Defcon, Quick Feet and Reinforced among the 209 youngsters left in the $1.4 million Group One race on February 13.

Training partners David Hayes and Tom Dabernig still have 23 in contention with Godolphin (20) and Mick Price (18) holding strong hands.

Exceed And Excel with 14 is the leading sire ahead of Snitzel (12) and Sebring (10) while the colts and geldings outnumber the fillies 117 to 92.
