Bowman to ride in two HK Group Ones

Tuesday 19 January 2016, 6:38am

Premier Sydney jockey Hugh Bowman will return to Hong Kong to ride at two upcoming feature meetings.

Bowman will ride former New Zealander Werther in Sunday's Hong Kong Classic Mile and will go back a week later for the Centenary Sprint Cup in which he will partner Not Listenin'tome.

Formerly trained by Hawkes Racing in Sydney, Not Listenin'tome ran third in the International Sprint in December and won a Group Three race on New Year's Day.

Werther finished second in two Derbys in Australia last year when runner-up to Delicacy in Adelaide and Magicool in Queensland.

He has had one start in Hong Kong for a 1600m-win in a support race on International day with Bowman aboard.

Bowman spent the last part of 2015 on a short-term contract in Japan.

He returned to Sydney racing last Saturday, steering Selita to win at his first ride back.
