Lyn Paton cobalt case still unresolved

Wednesday 23 March 2016, 9:13am

Allegations involving excess cobalt levels in two of Queensland trainer Lyn Paton's horses will be resolved by the middle of next month.

Paton, who trains at Coominya near Ipswich, faces allegations Pink Chaperone and Doing Our Best recorded cobalt irregularities after racing at Toowoomba and Kilcoy last October.

There have been four adjournments in the case with the latest after a preliminary hearing on Tuesday.

Paton has been given until April 8 to provide stewards with questions in writing.

The stewards will then also reply in writing before the next hearing in the middle of next month.

Chief steward Allan Reardon said all parties were keen to resolve the matter which had dragged on.
