Matt Dunn produced a likely winter carnival hope at Ipswich on Wednesday and the trainer hopes another will emerge at Doomben.
Dunn had a treble at Ipswich, including Hanwritten who ran a 1200m course record in winning a benchmark race.
And he is counting on Perfect Dare to continue the run when the three-year-old resumes on Saturday.
A regally bred gelding by top sire Fastnet Rock, Perfect Dare was placed in Sydney last year and won a Gold Coast barrier trial last week.
Dunn hopes Perfect Dare will measure up to stakes races during the winter.
Hanwritten won his first start at Newcastle beating subsequent stakes winner Ball Of Muscle in November, 2013.
"He was then taken to Hong Kong but he did not settle in and never raced. We got him this year," Dunn said.
