Noonan free to ride Precious Gem in G1

Wednesday 4 May 2016, 6:43am

Jake Noonan is free to ride Precious Gem in the Group One Robert Sangster Stakes at Morphettville.

Noonan was successful on Wednesday in his appeal against the severity of a nine meeting ban for careless riding, with the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board shaving three meetings off the ban.

He is now free to ride Precious Gem, a last-start winner of the Listed Anniversary Vase at Caulfield, in Adelaide on Saturday.

The Henry Dwyer-trained mare is a $13 chance.

Fellow jockey Patrick Moloney was unsuccessful in his appeal against the severity of an 11-meeting suspension, also incurred at Caulfield last Saturday.
