Brenton Avdulla's bid to climb the Sydney premiership ladder has been interrupted by a careless riding suspension, his second in two weeks.
Avdulla rode two winners at Rosehill on Saturday but was outed for an incident during the Lord Mayors Cup in which he ran third on Godolphin's Havana Cooler.
The six-meeting ban has been added to one Avdulla received at Hawkesbury last Saturday and he will be out from Sunday until May 26.
He rode two winners at Rosehill, Legerity and Religify, to move to 47 wins for the season, 1-1/2 behind third-placed Blake Shinn.
With Shinn to ride in Brisbane in coming weeks and second-placed Hugh Bowman in Japan, Avdulla was hoping to build his tally in an effort to be runner-up to James McDonald who has an unassailable lead.
Apprentice Andrew Adkins rode his second winner for Godolphin in a week but was also outed for careless riding until May 22, with his latest ban added to one he copped at Newcastle last Saturday.
