Apprentice Tom Sadler has been handed a three-week suspension for his ride aboard Lonrockstar at Caulfield.
Sadler fronted the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board on Thursday after stewards charged him with failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to ensure Lonrockstar was given full opportunity to win or obtain the best possible place in the field.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Trained by Sadler's father John, Lonrockstar was backed from $7 to $6 before finishing 11th in the Mark Wilson Sprint over 1100m on May 14.
Lonrockstar was diagnosed with the thumps and had a throat abnormality after the race.
Sadler's suspension begins on June 9.
