A start in the final Group One race of the season has gone from pipe dream to probability for the owners of Danish Twist.
The mare racked up her fourth successive win in Saturday's Listed June Stakes at Randwick to give apprentice Koby Jennings his first stakes win and put herself in line for the Tattersall's Tiara at Eagle Farm in two weeks.
Mark Baxter is part of the large syndicate which owns Danish Twist, which is trained at Newcastle by Kris Lees.
"I only have a small share, but it's so exciting," Baxter said.
"She is always at the pointy end of the races she runs in. It's unbelievable to have a horse like her and now we are looking a Group One in a couple of weeks.
"She was entered for Brisbane today as well, but Kris made a great call to keep her here at the 1100 metres and she can go back up to the 1400 metres next time."
Danish Twist ($7) came from the back of the field to beat Mount Nebo ($17) by two lengths with race leader Oxford Poet ($5.50 equal favourite) a nose third.
Her win was the second leg of a double for Jennings, who totted up four at Rosehill a week ago, getting opportunities in the absence of many of Sydney's leading riders who have been at the Brisbane carnival.
"It's very exciting to win my first stakes race," he said.
"And she did it so easily.
"I hadn't ridden her so I watched her videos and thought if I could get her to settle and not flick her head around, as she can do, I would be right.
"I knew I had it won a fair way out."
Danish Twist began her winning streak in April when she took out the $400,000 Provincial Championship and backed it up with victory at Hawkesbury and the Group Three Dark Jewel at Scone last month.
