If Marenostro is to reach the level his trainer thinks he can, he should be able to cope with carrying a big weight at Randwick.
Chris Waller has elected to stick with senior rider Tye Angland in Saturday's Racing To Win Hcp (1600m) rather than use a claiming apprentice on Marenostro, who will carry his full 60kg.
Group Three winner Casino Dancer, the original topweight, will carry 58kg with Jake Pracey-Holmes' three kilogram allowance.
"I think Marenostro is a horse who could get to an Epsom Handicap," Waller said.
"He will carry his full 60 kilograms and he should be able to cope.
"He's been a very good horse for the stable this year. He's a winner."
Punters agree, with Marenostro the $3.20 favourite on race eve ahead of Ammirata at $4.40.
Since returning from an autumn break, Marenostro has won his only two starts including a 1400m open-handicap earlier this month when he beat Inz'N'Out who is favourite for the Winter Dash (1200m) later on Saturday's program.
Waller is without a runner in Saturday's Tattersall's Tiara and will end the season as the leading Group One trainer on 15.
He will still be represented at the Eagle Farm meeting with several runners including Junoob and Index Linked in the Group Three Tattersall's Cup (2200m).
The trainer also has three stayers in the distance event at Randwick - the Pratt Foundation Hcp (2600m).
Murphy's Delight, who is coming back from the 3200 metres of the Stayer's Cup two weeks ago, will be joined in the race by Four Carat and Defrost My Heart.
Waller has elected to go with apprentice Koby Jennings aboard Murphy's Delight, to giver him two-kilos weight relief from his 61kg.
"He was second to a class horse in Opinion in the Stayer's Cup on a soft seven track," Waller said.
"A track improvement would help him and we have chosen to claim on him.
"He goes up from 54 kilograms at his last start so it's still a big weight.
"Some carry it and some don't."
"We have brought Four Carat back from Melbourne where he was racing below his best.
"He will wear a full cup blinker and I hope he can improve.
"And Defrost My Heart needs to do better."
The market agrees with Waller's assessment with Murphy's Delight the $3.50 equal favourite alongside Stayer's Cup third placegetter Zatopaz.
