Saluter among Glasshouse entries

Monday 27 June 2016, 1:13pm

Saluter is among 20 entries for the Listed Glasshouse Handicap at the Sunshine Coast, to be run a week after his narrow defeat in the Healy Stakes at Eagle Farm.

The Robert Heathcote-trained six-year-old was beaten a half head by Into The Red in Saturday's Group Three W J Healy Stakes (1200m) after a two-horse battle from the 200m.

The pair put a gap on the field with third-placed Mogador 5-1/2 lengths away.

"He has had hoof problems in the past month but seems to be over them. He should be ready for the 1400 metres of the Glasshouse," Heathcote said.

The winner of more than $1 million, Saluter earned more than half his prize money from his win in the 2013 Magic Millions Guineas.

The nominations for Saturday's feature sprint are headed by Group One winner Stratum Star.

The Darren Weir-trained four-year-old won the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes in the spring and finished a close third in the QTC Cup won by Spill The Beans on June 11.

Ninth Legion, a last-start winner of the Listed Eye Liner Stakes (1350m) at Ipswich is among the Glasshouse entries and is also nominated for the Listed Civic Stakes at Rosehill.

New Zealander Sacred Star, who finished fifth in the Stradbroke Handicap is also entered for the Sunshine Coast sprint as is Odyssey Moon who missed the Healy Stakes because of transport problems.

Odyssey Moon stayed in Melbourne on Saturday where he won at Flemington.

The 17 entries for the Listed Caloundra Cup (2400m) are headed by Saturday's Tattersall's Cup winner Index Linked who, along with his Chris Waller-trained stablemate Junoob, is dual nominated for the Winter Cup at Rosehill.
