Kathy O'Hara has been suspended and fined for using her mobile phone in the jockeys' room during a race meeting.
Jockeys are required to hand their phones to an attendant when they arrive at the races but Racing NSW stewards found O'Hara had used hers twice at meetings this month.
On Monday, they suspended her for two weeks and fined the Group One winning-rider $1000, noting it was her fourth breach of the rule.
After a forensic analysis of her phone, stewards said they were satisfied the communications were of a social nature and did not relate to the integrity of any race.
Unless she appeals, O'Hara will begin her suspension on July 3.
O'Hara recently returned to the track after an injury-enforced absence resulting from a fall in the Australian Oaks in April.
